It is very rare to find an old scale Trébuchet with its small weights and all its device. It dates from around the end of the 19th century and is entirely made of brass.
The most common scales that are found are a velvet interior, a faux leather box, chain suspensions and were made in India in the years 1950-60. This is not the case at all, which is much older. We notice it in the form of its weights, its wooden box and the composition of the scale by itself.
This portable scale was used by jewelers to weigh precious stones, but also by merchants to weigh gold, the precious metal that governed all transactions around the world. This portable model has probably served many times, in distant lands.
The Trebuchet is easily mountable and foldable to put it in the shelter in its box and to resume its way with the small box in its luggage. Here the Trebuchet attaches directly to the wooden box, everything has been designed for quick and easy use.
A splendid object to offer or decorate at home!
