DetailsHere is a splendid salad or soup plate from the famous Obernai collection of the sarreguemines earthenware factory. It dates back to the early 20th century.
The Obernai décor is currently the most famous of the printed decorations of the sarreguemines earthenware factory. It was created in 1902 by the Alsatian painter Henri Loux (1873-1907).
These settings trace daily life in the Alsatian countryside at the beginning of the 20th century. To the rhythm of the seasons, the rural traditions and the work of the farm, he immortalizes local characters such as the goose keeper or the shepherd, the diversity of costumes, villages.
This plate is perfect. Its décor is that of an Alsatian village in winter.
